GLJS Scholarship Fund

The Great Lakes Jazz society has partnered with BeInstrumental, to fund music lessons & instruments for Toledo-area for children. Each scholarship recipient receives, one year of weekly, 30-minute, private music lessons, on the music instrument of their choice. The music instrument is provided, so that the student can practice at home.

 

Estimated cost per scholarship recipient:

  • Music Lesson: $30 per 30 minute lesson (weekly) = $120 monthly ($14,400/yearly)
  • Music Instrument: price varies, depending on instrument selection

The scholarship is funded by a portion of festival and concert ticket sales, raffle proceeds and donations.

The Great Lakes Jazz Society will soon offer “Jazz Education Listening Sessions” that explore the history of jazz through presentations that include photos, videos and audio.
